Technical requirements
To browse the Store and place Orders, the Customer needs:
- a device with Internet access and a web browser;
- an active email address to receive the order confirmation and purchased key;
- support for the cookies necessary for the Cart, checkout and Account to function.
The requirements for Wic Reset Connect and printer communication are set out in Section 10. Detailed compatibility information is available in the relevant product description before purchase. The Customer should check the exact printer model and required connection method before ordering.
Wic Reset Utility is a separate product. The Customer must check the requirements of the selected software before purchase; Wic Reset Connect keys cannot be used in Wic Reset Utility, and Wic Reset Utility keys cannot be used in Wic Reset Connect.
Prices, currencies and use of the Store
- Browsing the Store does not require an Account. Orders may be placed through an Account or using guest checkout where available.
- Prices are displayed in the currency selected from the options available in the Store, including EUR or USD where offered. The currency and final amount shown at checkout apply to the particular Order; prices are not limited to Polish złoty.
- Prices addressed to Consumers include applicable taxes. Business offers may state net prices where expressly identified as such. The applicable taxes and total amount payable are shown before the Customer submits a binding Order.
- The final amount payable includes the Product price and any additional charges disclosed before the Order is submitted. Digital keys are delivered by email; physical shipping is not required for an emailed key.
- The Customer's bank or payment provider may apply currency conversion or charges under its separate agreement with the Customer. The Seller does not determine that provider's exchange rate.
- Purchased reset keys do not expire and may be used later in accordance with the terms of the selected Product. A standard single-use key covers one reset; the quantity of keys included in a package is specified in the offer.
- If any Product involves recurring charges, the amount and frequency must be clearly stated in its description and at checkout before purchase. Purchasing a standard reset key does not create a subscription.
- To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Seller is not responsible for disruptions caused by circumstances outside its control, such as force majeure or unlawful interference by third parties. This does not exclude mandatory duties to supply a conforming Product or the Customer's statutory remedies.
Customer Account
- To create an Account, the Customer completes the Registration Form and supplies the information marked as required, including an email address and login credentials. Any additional billing or contact information required for an Order is specified at checkout.
- Creating an Account is free of charge.
- The Customer signs in using the credentials associated with the Account and should protect them against unauthorised use.
- The Customer may request deletion of the Account at any time, without giving a reason or paying a deletion fee, by contacting the Seller using the details in Section 3. Account deletion does not affect existing contractual rights or legally required retention of transaction records.
Placing an Order
To place an Order, the Customer should:
- Choose the correct Product and confirm that the printer model is supported by that software.
- Select the required quantity and add the Product to the Cart using “Add to cart” or an equivalent button.
- Sign in or use guest checkout where available.
- Enter the information required to process the Order, including a valid delivery email address and any necessary billing details.
- Select an available payment method, review the currency, taxes, total price and these Terms, and provide any separately requested statements required for immediate supply of digital content or commencement of a service.
- Submit the Order using a button clearly indicating an obligation to pay, such as “Order and pay”, or its equivalent in the selected checkout language.
- Complete payment in accordance with the instructions for the selected method and within the time specified in Section 9. Any additional confirmation required by the checkout process is explained on screen or in the order email.
Delivery and payment
- Digital Products, including purchased reset keys, are delivered to the email address supplied by the Customer. Delivery of a key does not involve shipment of a physical item.
- The Customer may use the electronic payment methods available at checkout, including payments processed through Stripe and PayPal where offered for the selected currency and country.
- Keys are sent automatically after payment is confirmed. If an expected email does not arrive, the Customer should check the spam folder and contact the Seller with the order number or other information identifying the purchase.
- The delivery arrangements and payment methods shown for the particular Order apply. Immediate supply of digital content or early commencement of a service, and any resulting loss of the right of withdrawal, remain subject to Section 11.
Conclusion and performance of the Contract
- The Customer submits an Order using the Order Form as described in Section 7.
- The Seller confirms receipt and acceptance of the Order by email to the address supplied by the Customer. The confirmation includes at least acknowledgement of the Order, its acceptance and confirmation of the Contract.
- The Contract is concluded when the Customer receives the Seller's email confirming acceptance of the Order.
- The Seller provides confirmation of the Contract and legally required information on a durable medium, such as email, unless that information has already been supplied on a durable medium. Where required, the confirmation includes the Consumer's express consent and acknowledgement relating to early performance and withdrawal.
- Sending a licence key by email does not, by itself, remove the Consumer's right of withdrawal. The applicable conditions are set out in Section 11.
- Electronic payment must be completed within 1 calendar day after conclusion of the Contract. If payment is not completed within that period, the unpaid Order will be cancelled.
- The delivery period begins when payment is confirmed or credited to the Seller, according to the selected payment method.
- Wic Reset Connect keys are intended for resets performed by the purchaser, including authorised service work on customers' printers. Keys purchased under a quantity promotion for printer repair businesses are not intended for resale as standalone keys.
- If unauthorised resale of Wic Reset Connect keys is established, purchased keys that have not yet been used to reset a counter will be cancelled. The value of the cancelled keys will be refunded to the purchaser after a deduction of 50% as a handling charge.
- These provisions do not exclude or restrict rights granted to the Customer by mandatory law. In particular, the provisions on promotional keys do not limit statutory withdrawal rights or remedies for a Product that does not conform to the Contract.
Wic Reset Connect and USB over IP
Service session using USB over IP
- A standard Wic Reset Connect key enables one reset of the waste ink absorber counter in one supported Epson or Canon printer.
- The reset requires a computer running a supported version of Windows, administrator privileges, an active Internet connection and a printer connected directly to the computer by USB. The Customer must follow the instructions for the exact printer model, including any required driver installation and, for supported Canon printers, entry into service mode.
- Wic Reset Connect uses USB over IP technology to make a supported printer connected to the Customer's computer available to the Seller's service system over the network. The application automatically detects supported printers and facilitates encrypted communication between the printer and the service infrastructure.
- USB over IP is an intentional part of the application's operation. It enables the reset service and protects service instructions and technical solutions against unauthorised acquisition and copying, including extraction from the application through reverse engineering. Reset instructions are handled by the service infrastructure. This provision does not restrict any acts permitted by mandatory law.
- The connection uses FlexiHub communication components supplied by Electronic Team. To perform the reset, the application installs or starts the required system components, including drivers and services supporting USB communication. Depending on the system configuration, firewall rules necessary for that communication may need to be configured.
- Before components are installed and printer sharing begins, the Customer is informed of their function and purpose, required permissions, relevant network setting changes and removal procedure. Printer sharing begins when the Customer knowingly starts the relevant function in the application. The Customer must be authorised to make the printer available for the requested operation.
- The Customer's authorisation is limited to communication with the printer involved in the requested operation, to the extent necessary to perform it. This includes reading technical information, transmitting reset instructions and reading the result. It does not authorise sharing other USB devices or accessing the computer's desktop, private files, camera or microphone.
- The reset is performed automatically, without an operator, after the Customer enters a key and the server validates it. The application is not used to remotely control the Customer's desktop. The connection is initiated by the Customer through the application.
- The connection to the printer for a reset usually lasts approximately 1 minute. This is an estimate and may vary with the printer model, computer performance and Internet connection. The service session ends after the reset is completed and its result is returned, or when the operation ends with an error message.
- The Customer can interrupt communication with the printer by unplugging the USB cable connecting it to the computer. Interrupting an operation may prevent it from finishing correctly; the Customer should normally wait for the application's result message.
- Ending a service session does not uninstall the communication components. Instructions for stopping and removing them are provided in the documentation for the relevant application version. The authorisation described in paragraph 7 does not cover further service operations without a new request from the Customer.
- Information about personal data processed in connection with the application, including purposes, legal bases, recipients and retention periods, is provided before processing begins in the Privacy Policy and any relevant application notice. Starting printer sharing is not consent to unrestricted data processing or access to other computer resources.
- The reset concerns the electronic waste ink absorber counter. It does not replace physical inspection, cleaning or replacement of the absorber where required, or repair other mechanical, electronic or print-quality faults. The Customer should ensure the printer is in a suitable technical condition before resetting the counter.
- Wic Reset Connect is an independent solution and is not a product or official service of Epson or Canon.
- Complaints concerning a key or a reset are handled in accordance with applicable law. This section does not limit statutory consumer rights.
Right of withdrawal
- A Consumer entering into a Distance Contract may withdraw without giving a reason within 14 days, subject to the statutory exceptions and conditions below. Any longer mandatory period or additional mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
- For services and digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, the withdrawal period starts on the date the Contract is concluded. If a Contract concerns physical goods, the period starts when the Consumer or a third party designated by the Consumer, other than the carrier, takes possession of the goods. For goods delivered separately, in lots or pieces, it starts on receipt of the last item, lot or piece; for regular deliveries over a fixed period, on receipt of the first item.
- To withdraw, the Consumer must inform the Seller by an unequivocal statement. It is sufficient to send the statement before the withdrawal period expires.
- The statement may be sent by post or email using the details in Section 3. The model withdrawal form in Annex 1 may be used but is not compulsory.
- The Seller promptly acknowledges receipt of an electronically submitted withdrawal statement on a durable medium, such as email.
- Following a valid withdrawal, the Contract is treated as not concluded. The Seller reimburses all payments received, including any standard delivery charges for goods where required by law, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving the withdrawal statement. Additional costs resulting from a delivery option more expensive than the least expensive standard delivery offered by the Seller do not have to be reimbursed.
- Reimbursement uses the same payment method as the original transaction unless the Consumer expressly agrees to another method that does not result in additional fees for the Consumer.
- For physical goods, the Seller may withhold reimbursement until the goods or evidence of their return are received, whichever occurs first, unless the Seller has offered to collect them. The Consumer must return the goods within 14 days after notifying withdrawal and bears direct return costs only if properly informed before the Contract was concluded. Liability for diminished value is limited to handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods, on the terms prescribed by law.
- For paid digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, the right of withdrawal is lost only if all applicable statutory conditions are met, including those in Article 38(1)(13) of the Polish Consumer Rights Act: performance begins with the Consumer's prior express consent, the Consumer has been informed of and acknowledged the resulting loss of that right, and the required confirmation is provided on a durable medium. Payment or emailing a key alone does not satisfy these conditions.
- For a paid service, the right of withdrawal is lost after full performance only if the service was performed with the Consumer's prior express consent and the Consumer was informed beforehand and acknowledged that full performance would end that right. If the Consumer validly withdraws before full performance after properly requesting an early start, a proportionate amount for the service supplied may be payable only where and to the extent permitted by law.
- Any other statutory exception applies only if it is relevant to the actual subject of the Contract and its legal conditions are met. The Customer is informed of the relevant exception before the Contract is concluded.
- Provisions on returning physical goods do not require the Consumer to physically send back an emailed licence key.
Complaints and guarantees
- The Seller must supply a Product that conforms to the Contract. Statutory rights concerning goods, digital content and digital services apply according to the nature of the Product, including the relevant provisions of the Polish Consumer Rights Act and any additional mandatory protection under applicable law.
- Where a Product does not conform to the Contract, the Customer may use the remedies provided by applicable law, including having it brought into conformity and, where the legal conditions are met, obtaining a price reduction or terminating the Contract.
- A complaint may be submitted in writing or by email using the contact details in Section 3.
- To help the Seller investigate, the Customer is encouraged to provide the order number, a description of the problem, when and how it occurred, contact details and the requested remedy. For an application problem, the printer model and error message may help. Failure to provide these additional details does not remove the right to complain.
- The Seller responds to a Consumer's complaint within 14 days of receipt, unless a specific applicable provision sets another period. Failure to respond within the required period results in the complaint being deemed accepted under applicable Polish law. The response is provided on paper or another durable medium, such as email. Complaints from other Customers are handled without undue delay and within 30 days unless applicable law requires an earlier response.
- If physical goods must be made available to assess a complaint, this is arranged in accordance with applicable law. The Seller's address is given in Section 3.
- Any additional commercial guarantee applies only to the extent expressly stated in its guarantee terms. It does not exclude, limit or suspend the Customer's statutory rights.
Out-of-court dispute resolution
- Consumers may use the out-of-court complaint and dispute resolution procedures available under applicable law, subject to the rules of the relevant procedure.
- Information about Polish consumer dispute resolution bodies and procedures is available from the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and its consumer ADR information service.
- A Consumer may contact the relevant provincial Trade Inspection authority or permanent consumer arbitration court, subject to the applicable procedure. Free assistance may also be available from a local consumer ombudsman or a consumer organisation.
- Consumers living in another EU Member State, Norway or Iceland may contact their local European Consumer Centre for assistance with a cross-border dispute involving the Polish Seller, subject to the network's eligibility rules.
- Where a complaint does not resolve a dispute, the Seller provides the information about alternative dispute resolution required by applicable law. These provisions do not restrict access to a competent court or any other mandatory remedy.
Personal data
- The Seller is the controller of personal data collected in connection with the Store and performance of Contracts. Contact details are set out in Section 3.
- Personal data is processed for the purposes and on the legal bases described in the Privacy Policy, including where necessary to enter into and perform the Contract or comply with legal obligations. Marketing that requires consent is carried out only after that consent has been obtained.
- Recipients may include payment providers and providers of IT, hosting, communication and delivery services, within the scope necessary for their tasks. Where physical goods are ordered, the data necessary for delivery may be supplied to the selected carrier or intermediary.
- Use of Wic Reset Connect involves processing the technical information necessary to establish the connection and carry out the requested operation. The specific data, purposes, legal bases, recipients, retention periods and any transfers outside the European Economic Area are explained in the Privacy Policy and relevant notices provided before processing begins.
- Subject to the conditions laid down in the GDPR, Customers have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority, including the President of the Polish Personal Data Protection Office (UODO). Where processing is based on consent, it may be withdrawn without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
- Providing personal data is voluntary, but the Seller may be unable to conclude or perform a Contract without the information necessary for that purpose. Accepting these Terms or starting USB over IP communication is not general consent to unrestricted processing of personal data.
Final provisions and applicable law
- Contracts placed through the English-language storefront are concluded in English. If the Store offers checkout and contractual information in another language selected by the Customer, the language presented and accepted at checkout and in the order confirmation applies. A translation does not restrict the Consumer's mandatory rights.
- The Seller may amend these Terms for valid reasons, such as changes in law, payment methods or delivery arrangements, to the extent that they affect these Terms. Amendments are announced at least 7 days in advance. They do not affect acquired rights or automatically change previously concluded Contracts. For continuing services, the applicable rules on changes and termination apply.
- These Terms and Contracts are governed by Polish law, including the Civil Code, the Act on Providing Services by Electronic Means, the Consumer Rights Act and applicable data protection law, including the GDPR.
- The choice of Polish law does not deprive a Consumer of protection under provisions that cannot be excluded by agreement and that would apply without that choice, including the mandatory law of the Consumer's country of habitual residence where the relevant conflict-of-laws rules so provide. Nothing in these Terms imposes exclusive jurisdiction in Poland on Consumers or excludes mandatory rights available in their country.
- Information about out-of-court dispute resolution is provided in Section 13.
- These Terms are available free of charge in a form that can be read, saved and printed. They form part of the Contract to the extent that they have been properly supplied to the Customer before the Contract is concluded.
