Epson EP-808A Waste Ink Counter Reset
The Epson EP-808A is a widely used Epson printer. Like many Epson devices, it can stop printing when the internal waste ink counter reaches its predefined limit.
The Epson EP-808A tracks waste ink with an internal counter. Because it is an estimate (not a physical sensor), it may trigger before the pads are actually full.
Why Does the Epson EP-808A Show ‘Service Required’?
Most Epson EP-808A waste ink counter locks are solved by a software counter reset. Wic Reset Connect provides a straightforward procedure.
Three Steps to Restore Epson EP-808A Printing
- Step 1: Use a Windows PC (7–11) with Internet access. Connect Epson EP-808A via USB (Wi-Fi reset is not supported).
- Step 2: Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and confirm Epson EP-808A is detected.
- Step 3: Use the key to reset the counter, wait for completion, then restart Epson EP-808A to finalize.
Most Epson EP-808A waste counter resets finish in ~1–2 minutes.
What You Need

- Windows 7/8/10/11 PC
- Stable Internet connection during reset
- USB connection required (Wi-Fi reset not supported)
Common Fixes
- Use a direct USB connection (avoid hubs).
- Try another USB cable (some cables are charge-only).
- Temporarily disable VPN/proxy if validation fails.
- Run the app as Administrator.
- Restart printer and PC, then try again.
