Canon TS8010 Ink Absorber Full Reset
The “Ink Absorber Full” / service required message on Canon TS8010 is common after many cleaning cycles. In most cases, a counter reset restores printing.
During head cleaning, surplus ink is routed to internal absorber pads. Canon TS8010 monitors this via a counter and can lock printing at a threshold.

How to Enter Service Mode on Canon TS8010
Some Canon series require entering service mode before the ink absorber counter can be reset.
- Turn the printer OFF.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset (keep holding Power).
- Press Stop/Reset 5 times.
- Release Power — the printer should enter service mode.
If it doesn’t work, repeat the sequence carefully. The press count depends on the series.
Reset the Ink Absorber Counter
After service mode is enabled (if required), the waste ink counter can be reset using a supported reset procedure/software.
Warnings
Resetting the counter does not physically clean the absorber pads. For heavy usage, pads may eventually need cleaning or replacement.

If It Doesn’t Work
- Power-cycle the printer and try again.
- Use the correct Stop/Reset press count for your series.
- Try a different USB cable/port if using PC software.
