Canon MX437 Ink Absorber Full Reset
If your Canon MX437 suddenly refuses to print and shows a maintenance or service warning, the ink absorber counter may have reached its limit.
Ink absorber pads store waste ink during normal operation. Canon firmware tracks this using a software counter and may stop printing when it reaches the limit.
This page is prepared for Canon MX437. Service mode instructions are shown only when a matching series procedure is known.
How the Error Appears
- ‘Ink Absorber Full’ / ‘Service Required’ message
- Support/service code (varies by series)
- Printing blocked after cleaning cycles
- Reset required to continue printing
Perform the Waste Ink Counter Reset
Once the counter is cleared, Canon MX437 should exit the locked state and printing should resume normally.
Warnings
Treat the reset as a maintenance step. If your printer has extremely high usage, consider cleaning/replacing absorber pads to avoid overflow.
Reset tools and instructions
