Canon IB4080 Ink Absorber Full Reset

Canon IB4080 can lock printing when the waste ink (ink absorber) counter hits a predefined threshold. This guide explains how to reset it.

Ink absorber pads store waste ink during normal operation. Canon firmware tracks this using a software counter and may stop printing when it reaches the limit.

Reset the Ink Absorber Counter

Once the counter is cleared, Canon IB4080 should exit the locked state and printing should resume normally.

Important Notes

If absorber pads are truly saturated, ignoring maintenance can lead to ink leakage inside the printer. The counter reset only removes the software lock.
