Fix Epson TX120 Service Required – Waste Counter Reset

Epson TX120 Waste Ink Counter Reset

If your Epson TX120 suddenly refuses to print and shows a maintenance warning, it is often caused by the waste ink (ink pad) counter threshold.

A waste ink counter in the Epson TX120 accumulates after cleaning operations. Once it reaches a limit, printing is stopped to prevent overflow.

Why Does the Epson TX120 Show ‘Service Required’?

Most Epson TX120 waste ink counter locks are solved by a software counter reset. Wic Reset Connect provides a straightforward procedure.

Typical Signs

  • ‘Service Required’ / service life message in driver or utility
  • Maintenance/support code (varies by model/driver)
  • Printing stops after cleaning cycles
  • Warning repeats after restarting the printer

Three Steps to Restore Epson TX120 Printing

  1. Step 1: Prepare a Windows PC + USB cable and connect Epson TX120 directly. Keep Internet enabled for validation.
  2. Step 2: Start Wic Reset Connect in Administrator mode and wait until Epson TX120 appears in the device list.
  3. Step 3: Paste the reset key, click Reset, and after completion power-cycle Epson TX120.

Most Epson TX120 waste counter resets finish in ~1–2 minutes.

System Requirements

  • USB connection required (Wi-Fi reset not supported)
  • Windows 7/8/10/11 PC
  • Valid Wic Reset Connect reset key
  • Stable Internet connection during reset

If the Printer Is Not Detected

  • Temporarily disable VPN/proxy if validation fails.
  • Close Epson Status Monitor or other printer utilities.
  • Use a direct USB connection (avoid hubs).
  • Try another USB cable (some cables are charge-only).
  • Restart printer and PC, then try again.
