How to Reset Ink Absorber on Canon MX439

Canon MX439 can lock printing when the waste ink (ink absorber) counter hits a predefined threshold. This guide explains how to reset it.

During head cleaning, surplus ink is routed to internal absorber pads. Canon MX439 monitors this via a counter and can lock printing at a threshold.

What You May Notice

Once the counter is cleared, Canon MX439 should exit the locked state and printing should resume normally.

Resetting the counter does not physically clean the absorber pads. For heavy usage, pads may eventually need cleaning or replacement.

Does every Canon model need service mode?
