Epson L4160 Waste Ink Counter Reset
The Epson L4160 delivers reliable printing, but periodic maintenance routines can increase the waste ink counter and eventually trigger a ‘Service Required’ lock.
The Epson L4160 tracks waste ink with an internal counter. Because it is an estimate (not a physical sensor), it may trigger before the pads are actually full.
What Causes the Epson L4160 Ink Pad Counter Warning?
With Wic Reset Connect, you can reset the Epson L4160 waste ink counter quickly using a Windows PC, USB connection, and a valid reset key.

Three Steps to Restore Epson L4160 Printing
- Step 1: Use a Windows PC (7–11) with Internet access. Connect Epson L4160 via USB (Wi-Fi reset is not supported).
- Step 2: Start Wic Reset Connect in Administrator mode and wait until Epson L4160 appears in the device list.
- Step 3: Paste the reset key, click Reset, and after completion power-cycle Epson L4160.
Most Epson L4160 waste counter resets finish in ~1–2 minutes.
If the Printer Is Not Detected
- Use a direct USB connection (avoid hubs).
- Restart printer and PC, then try again.
- Run the app as Administrator.
- Close Epson Status Monitor or other printer utilities.
- Try another USB cable (some cables are charge-only).
